When I am not in class I love spending time with my kids, and reading books. I also enjoy the outdoors with my husband and children.

I have spent 2016 volunteering at AISU (American International School of Utah) hosting an after school math group called Crazy 8's Bedtime Math. I teach 3rd-5th graders math while doing fun activities. I love every minute of it and hope to host it again next school year.

I spend most of my working time in the Montessori 1st-2nd grade classroom but I have substituted a few 8th grade classes as well as several High School classes and the PreK/Kindergarten class. I enjoy every minute I get to spend in a classroom. AISU is a free charter school that hosts PreK-12. I am on the sub list for all grades and recently picked up a permanent subbing job one day a week in the 1st-2nd grade classroom.

UPDATE as of Fall 2017

Unfortunately I had to drop classes in Fall of 2016 due to the unexpected passing of my father in Seattle, WA. He had a massive heart-attack and I missed so much school in the 2 weeks I was up there hoping he would make it that ultimately I made the decision to not try to play catch up. I did however upon my return home land a position as a Full Time TA. However my success was overshadowed by a car accident last January that once again left me dropping classes after I was bed-bound for 6 weeks. I did however manage to get caught back up in my math class and pass it with a B! This semester I got into the full swing of things with 14 credit hours to get myself back on track but I am determined to graduate with my AS in May so that I can move forward with my career. I love my job at AISU, I get to help teach the 1st graders under the direction of the Lead Lower Elementary teacher. I love every minute of it. I get to work with 1-3rd graders and I look forward to transferring to Westminster this summer to continue my Bachelors Degree in Education with a Montessori minor certification.  I hope to obtain a FT teaching position at my current school. American International School of Utah. GO DRAGONS!

UPDATE AS OF 2019

I Graduated with my Associate of Science in Education with honors!! I changed majors from Elementary Education to BA Special Education and begin working on it at WGU March 1, 2019. I still work at AISU but have stepped back out of the classroom and I am substituting so that I can work with the full K-12 instead of just 1-3.
